Farmgate was first established in Midleton and years later another café was opened in the English Market in Cork City. It is situated on the balcony at the Princes Street entrance in Cork’s historic food market. The Farmgate has won many awards and at the heart of their ethos, is the idea that food should be local, seasonal and prepared simply.
The menu is based on availability from the stalls downstairs, including wonderful fish, local free range chicken, Irish lamb, beef and seasonal fruit and vegetables. It specialises in traditional dishes such as Cork Tripe and Drisheen, corned beef, mutton, and oysters which are delivered directly to the table from the fish stall downstairs in the market.
