Discover the delights of the Waterford Greenway with The Greenway Man. Based in Durrow (Shanacool), County Waterford, explore tunnels, viaducts, and the ruins of the old railway station. Relax on one of the picnic benches and soak up the stunning sea views.
The Greenway Man can deliver to bed and breakfasts, hotels or to various starting points along the Waterford Greenway. Garvan says that many people use Durrow as a base, parking at the Greenway carpark and then cycling west to pretty Dungarvan for a meal or a drink. Others decide to travel east for a visit to Kilmacthomas and later return to Durrow, described as the best family spot on the Greenway.
Find The Greenway Man on the R675 road, the coastal road from Dungarvan to Tramore, 10kms east of Dungarvan. From the N25, take the Stradbally turn, 500 metres west of Lemybrien and stop 3kms along that road.
Meet Garvan, the Greenway Man himself, and pick up tips on long-distance walks. A regular on routes such as the Camino de Santiago and Hadrian's Wall, Garvan brings his extensive experience to the Waterford Greenway.
