Gorgeous Kilmurrin Beach was the location for a stunning piece of sand art, created by environmental artist Sean Corcoran ahead of the June Bank Holiday. Measuring 120ft in height and 200 ft wide, higher than Dublin's Liberty Hall, the artwork was created to encourage people around Ireland to 'Keep Discovering' as the country reopens once again.
Two rocky headlands shelter the soft, powdery sand, leaving the water still and clear - perfect swimming conditions. Leave the car at the nearby car park and walk along the headlands for panoramic views of the beach, sea and countryside. Keep an eye out for the blowhole and watch as the tide comes in and sprays out through the top.
This tranuquil spot is ideal for relaxing with friends and family, so pack a picnic and make a day of it.
