Roslee Castle sits beside the pier at Easkey and is a well known feature along the north coast of County Sligo.
Roslee Castle, also known as O’Dowd’s Castle or Easkey Castle, was built in 1207 for Oliver McDonnell, who came to Sligo to marry an O’Dowd.
The tower is now all that remains of this once prominent stronghold. With a careful climb to the top of the tower along uneven steps, visitors are rewarded with stunning coastal views.
