Experience adventure on the banks of the River Shannon. Located beside scenic Lough Bofin, close to the villages of Rooskey and Dromod, County Roscommon, Shannon River Adventure offers many fun filled water and land based activities, including kayaking, canoeing, archery, mudslides, orienteering, pier jumping, a climbing wall, island trips, and adventure camps. There is something to challenge and reward all ages and abilities.
Kayaking is probably one of the most popular activities at Shannon River Adventure. Visitors can have a fun taster session on one of the sit on top kayaks, or take things a little more seriously in the cockpit style.
Canoeing, or open boating as it is also known, is a little more relaxed than kayaking, with usually two or three to a boat. On your trip, you can visit some of the many islands surrounding the beautiful waters of the River Shannon and Kilglass Lakes.
Archery gives you the chance to test your target skills with one of the oldest sports in the world. Traditional longbows and straw targets set on tripods are used. The archery shed at Shannon River Adventure is sheltered from the elements, so that you can build your skills in a safe, comfortable environment. Pier jumping is an all time favourite and provides great enjoyment for adults and children alike. It's a great way to get started with the adventure activities available at the centre.
There is a variety of team games and challenges, all of which can be tailored to suit all ages and groups.
