Old Head Beach, Louisburgh in County Mayo is a sheltered, sandy beach that attracts swimmers and surfers alike. The length of the beach at Old Head is backed by rocky cliffs and is overlooked by Croagh Patrick.
Old Head Beach, Louisburgh in County Mayo has Old Head woodland located approx 200m to the rear of Old Head Beach, Louisburgh. This is a Special Area of Conservation SAC with an extreme development of Atlantic oakwood. It is one of the only Irish sites where the habitat occurs directly adjacent to the coast.
Activities enjoyed at Old Head Beach, Louisburgh include, swimming, surfing, water skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing.
