The Devils Menu Boutique Cookery School is the home of chef John Whelan. With a background in high end cuisine, John cooks with passion and flair and he loves to talk about food, life and anything he finds funny with guests. The food is modern Irish with classical roots.

The dream chef’s kitchen is purpose built for fun and cooking with a huge island that you can sit at and enjoy a drink and some fun whilst watching John cook a bespoke menu tailored to your foodie dreams.

Terroir and food provenance are hugely influential so local wild, organic and free range produce are used whenever possible. The chef’s table culinary experience is like your own personal cookery show, where you can ask questions as the food is cooked in front of you and learn some invaluable culinary tips. And then the best part, you get to eat everything as it’s plated.

The island seats up to fourteen guests and the evenings can be a four, five, six, seven or even an eight course menu. And if you would like a tipple with dinner you can bring your own favourite drinks.

The ‘Bespoke Cooking Class’ is for one to six guests and can be a half or full day. The menu will be created with the guests before coming and they are tailored to the culinary needs and wants of the guest or group. This will be hands on cooking with chef John shadowing you to make sure you succeed in cooking a fantastic dish every time. You will learn technique, confidence and get to use the very latest Siemens Studio Line appliances. Then taste, eat and indulge in the beautiful dishes you have created.
