The first section of the Nore Valley Walk, this moderate Kilkenny City to Bennettsbridge stretch takes 2 hours to complete.
A mainly riverside route, the terrain covered includes farmland and woods, passing ruined mills en route to the pretty village of Bennettsbridge.
This linear trail starts in Kilkenny City at the Lacken Walk. Simply follow the Lacken Walk to Ossory Bridge and then continue along the signposted Nore Valley Walk all the way to Bennettsbridge.
There are a number of green stiles and bridges along this walk. After periods of high rainfall the trail can be very wet and boggy so hiking boots or wellingtons are recommended.
