Kilkenny Walking Tours were established in 1983 by Pat Tynan, a local historian and history teacher. Pat's walking tour will bring to life the stories and characters of Kilkenny's medieval history which established Kilkenny as one of Ireland's most successful inland medieval Norman cities.
Kilkenny was home to the great Butler family, Earls of Ormonde, the scene of Alice Kyteler's trial in 1324 which was Ireland's earliest witch trial, and it was also the medieval capital of Ireland in 1642.
A city of two cathedrals, Kilkenny also boasts a great hurling tradition known as the Kilkenny Cats/Fighting Cats.
Discover one of the finest restored medieval Norman cities with Pat, who will guide you along the Medieval Mile and walk you through the medieval laneways and explore Kilkenny’s nooks and crannies.
