Pony Tales Stables is a family run riding school near Killarney in Co. Kerry, located just 6 miles from Killarney and Milltown, centrally located in Faha, just 10 minutes from Killorglin, offering equestrian activities.
Pony Tales Stables pride themselves on being able to help everyone whatever their level of riding skills. They don’t want anybody to be afraid to come and try out horse riding. Horse riding is a thrilling sport, but you can start as gently as you wish from just about any age. Their mission statement is, 'learn to ride with confidence’, it is their driving principle. Pony Tales Stables offer a welcoming and safe environment in which everybody can develop their riding skills to the best of their ability, whether a beginner on a lead rope or an aspiring show jumper or dressage rider, they will give the same amount of time, attention, respect and patience to all.
Pony Tales Stables has 14 spacious and well maintained stables offering maximum comfort for the horses and ponies, 8 in a purpose built barn and 6 in picturesque, traditional style timber stables in a courtyard setting. Other facilities include grazing land, a large tack room, feed room, turnout paddock, lunging arena and a large covered, rubber and sand arena (approx 35m x 21m), perfect for riding in all weathers. Visitor facilities include toilets, vending machine for snacks, hot and cold drinks, viewing room and ample parking.
Core activities offered include riding lessons for all abilities, from beginners to advanced, with a particular but not exclusive focus on show jumping. Expert tuition for people of all ages, starting from 5 years and upwards. Therapeutic riding is also a key element at Pony Tales Stables, with qualified instructors and gentle ponies and horses ensuring a safe environment for hands on interaction and riding, which is proven to be therapeutic for those with special needs or disabilities.
Children and teenagers with an interest in horse riding will love the pony camps at Pony Tales Stables. They will learn about stable management and pony care in a fun, friendly environment, with plenty of riding and riding lessons along the way. The popular pony camp programmes mix tuition with stable management and pony care. The 1, 2, 3 or 5 day camps include technical riding lessons in the arena, pony games, quizzes, grooming competitions and the 5 day campers all enjoy a fun jumping competition at the end of the week and maybe even a surprise outing. All camps finish with refreshments and prize giving with everyone taking home a certificate and medal.
Pony Tales Stables offers a series of pony camps for tourists who are holidaying in Killarney and the south west of Ireland, giving them the chance to interact with local people with a common interest in a completely English speaking environment. Morning and afternoon camps are also available on request.
