Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne, a subsidiary company of the local community development co-operative, organises an annual programme of Irish Language and Heritage Courses for Adult Learners in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh (or Ballyferriter), Co. Kerry, in the heart of the Gaeltacht or Irish-speaking area of West Kerry (13km/8 miles west of Dingle).
Courses are run throughout the year for adult learners of all standards, from absolute beginners to people who have a good standard of Irish or who are fluent. Courses for particular groups may be organized on request. The programme consists of a mixture of conversation classes by day and a series of field trips/walks/lectures/concerts/céilí at night.
3- or 4-day Irish Language, Heritage and Hillwalking courses available. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne also run the local museum, Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne, (www.westkerrymuseum.com), in Ballyferriter.
