A charming trail through rich bogland and abundant heather, the Muckish Lúb Loch Achair takes 2.5 hours to complete.
An easy route, this County Donegal loop ascends only 120m over a terrain of level surfaced track and rougher bog paths.
Largely following the old track path of the historic Burtonport rail line, the trail showcases beautiful views of Muckish Mountain, passes tranquil Lough Achair and even treats walkers to glimpses of distant Atlantic coastline.
Best enjoyed in dry conditions, the Muckish Lúb Loch Achair is suitable for the whole family.
The welcoming village of Creeslough is a great spot to stop and refresh in after this pleasant walking loop.
