The Binngorm Trail in the northern reaches of County Donegal is one of the country’s most spectacular hikes; an absolute must-do for walkers in the know.
Take in one of the most beautiful and varied of Ireland's forest parks as you begin your walk by skirting out northward through the eastern side of the 481ha Ards Forest Park.
The pace varies along the route, and can be strenuous in places, but committed hikers will be rewarded with the many historical treasures dotted throughout the lush forest, including four ring forts, a holy well, and a mass rock, among others.
Follow the path out along Binngorm Point by the bay and enjoy the wide stretches of sand and fresh sea air. Look out for the standing stone, keeping quiet watch at the far tip of the peninsula.
