Macroom Buffalo Farm is owned by Johnny and Geraldine Lynch, who are 4th generation dairy farmers based in Gaeltacht Mhúscraí in County Cork. They purchased 31 water buffalo from Italy in 2009, introducing the first herd of the water buffalo species to Ireland. Today there is a herd of over 700 water buffalo in the environs of Kilnamartyra and Macroom. Grass fed dairy and meat herds thrive in the Irish climate.

Feirm Bhuabhaill Mhaigh Chromtha & Mhúscraí - bia agus blaise. Take a Tour and Taste Macroom Buffalo Farm Experience with farm guide Dorothy Ó Tuama from Ó Tuama Tours. Explore how this farmer’s efforts are contributing to the growing population of water buffalo in Ireland today. Witness the majestic water buffalo herds in a natural habitat and learn about the family’s sustainable dairy farming first hand. Hear all about Johnny's dedication to animal welfare and care to his many calves in the Big Green Barn. Gain insights into ethical and efficient methods of buffalo milk production.

Discover the nutritional advantages of buffalo milk and suitability to produce the signature soft, creamy buffalo mozzarella and other diverse cheeses and yogurt produced here to suit every palate.

Finally, engage all your senses through a delightful tasting session, savouring the flavours of the signature Macroom Buffalo Cheese products during your experience with Dorothy.
