Kinsale Surf Adventures is a surf school that offers a range of activities including surfing, bodyboarding, stand up paddle boarding, and kayaking from Garrettstown Beach and Dock Beach in Kinsale Harbour, County Cork. Kinsale Surf School believes in learning to surf safely, while respecting the ocean and others. Activities are suitable for groups and individuals and are open to all levels of experience.
All Surf School instructors are fully qualified, WSA approved surf instructors and beach/pool lifeguards. Wetsuits, boards, and all safety equipment are provided, so just bring swimwear, a towel and a lot of enthusiasm. Kinsale Surf School pride themselves on encouraging people to learn to surf through the correct progressions and to observe safe surfing practice and knowing the rules in the water.
Guided SUP and Kayak sessions in Kinsale Harbour are a wonderful way to see Ireland's coastline up close and personal. Previous SUP boarders and Kayakers have met a seal colony, a minke whale and a glorious basking shark.
To become an accomplished surfer you need to serve a surf apprenticeship. The instructors offer group lessons or one-to-one sessions for improvers. Lessons are open to all ages (8yrs+) and abilities. Summer Camps run from June to August each year. Camps are age appropriate (8yrs - teens) and activities include surfing, educational weather and tide briefings, meet the lifeguards and beach games. Camps prove very popular so book a place early. If you have worked up a post-surf appetite there are plenty of food vendors and a coffee shop located next to the Kinsale Surf School along with parking and public toilets.
