Allison Roberts of Exploding Tree chocolate is Ireland's only Fairtrade bean to bar chocolate maker. Passionate about cocoa as the 'food of the gods' as well as creating change in an industry rife with injustice, Roberts uses healthier and more sustainable alternatives like coconut sugar and packages only using biodegradable or compostable wrap if at all.
Her range of products is wide and there is something for everyone including 45% Irish milk, 100% pure cocoa, a vegan milk chocolate with oat milk, and a goats' milk bar.
For groups: Private group workshops and chocolate tastings are available by arrangement. They can comfortably fit groups of four to eight adults in their workshop space or for larger groups and parties they use a room at O’Donovans Hotel in town or Clonakilty Brewing Co HQ event space for Beer and Chocolate events.
