Pius Murray of Walk with Pius against a stone wall
More from visitors like you
On a Walk with Pius you will join local guide Pius Murray in County Clare for a guided walk in the Burren or on Inisheer Island. These guided walks are immersive, spiritual experiences that enable you to connect with the breathtaking landscape, view unusual limestone paving and visit archaeological and sacred sites.

A Walk with Pius allows you to explore the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark in County Clare or Inisheer Island, one of the Aran Islands located off the Clare coastline. Pius Murray has a depth of knowledge of the area which he is delighted to share. He invites you to explore the secret places and immerse yourself in the spirituality of this stunning, unique, karst landscape on the Wild Atlantic Way.

You will hear enjoyable, amusing descriptions of the unusual flora, fauna, geology, history, archaeology, mythology and farming practices of the Burren. Visitors find that Pius brings passion, literature, poetry, wit and humour to the walks, with a focus on the sacredness and mindfulness of the environment.

The walks are for every ability, from ambles to longer hikes, along trails in various locations in the unique landscape. Burren walks typically depart from Dysert O'Dea Castle in Corofin, although other arrangements can be made. The walks on Inisheer Island depart from Doolin Pier.
