Clifden Eco Beach Camping and Caravanning Park is nestled amongst the sand dunes on the Western fringe of Connemara, just 10 kilometres from Clifden town on a unique ecological private beach.

Clifden Eco Beach Camping and Caravanning Park is an unique ecological natura campsite is Ireland's first Climate Neutral ecoCampsite, nestled amongst the sand dunes on the western fringe of Connemara, Co. Galway. It boasts beautiful panoramic Atlantic seascape views from its own secluded private sandy beach, here a true natura camping experience awaits. Ecological and spacious on eight hectares of coastal Machair habitat bio-diversity that interconnects the wonderful West Connacht Coast, a Special Area of Conservation for Bottle nosed Dolphins.

Ideally situated on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way just ten minutes from Clifden town and two minutes from the small scenic village of Claddaghduff, between the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and majestic Twelve Bens mountain range which forms part of the Connemara National Park. Only a short distance away, it features fantastic designated trekking routes. Here one can gain a unique understanding of Irish bogs and the ecosystems they support.

Glamping and wild camping style plots with private eco campfires are peaceful and privately spaced between marram grass covered sand dunes, making your camping experience unique and more enjoyable. Here you can discover the peace of nature amongst the dunes with vast open spaces, natural beauty, sandy beaches, breath taking sunsets and cosy campfires under a star friendly sky. All within the boundaries of an ecological amenity that is operated on a sustainable, green, environmental and ethical basis with a zero carbon foot print making this a serene destination to unwind.

One kilometre of coastline with excellent crystal clear bathing water quality provides the perfect water trail discovery for all kinds of sea borne activities, including safe swimming, angling, crabbing, scuba diving, kite surfing, boating and fantastic drift snorkelling along the estuary of Streamstown Bay. One can also enjoy a coastal discovery of ecological and geological listed sites, these are among the best examples seen anywhere in Europe. There are beautiful coastal beach walks within the park, with longer walks around the picturesque tidal island of Omey.

We offer modern, clean and well maintained sanitary facilities, including hydro fresh showering. They come with all the usual amenities such as hand towels and soap. The kitchenette is equipped with fridge, freezers, microwave, electric kettle, dishwashing sinks and seating. A private supply of pure quality, sterilized, crystal clear, organically sourced spring water is provided and is unique to the campsite.

Also unique to the park is an ecosystem called Machair, listed as a priority habitat in Ireland under the EU Habitats Directive. This is a highly specialized and complex sand dune habitat system that is confined globally to the north West Coast of Ireland and Scotland. It comprises a flat or gently undulating sandy plain that develops in an oceanic location with a cool, moist climate resulting in rich bio-diversity.
