Tour guides are available to meet and greet visitors at Drumcliffe. The tour guides give tours and talks on history of this area in the iconic setting of Saint Columas Church, beside the high cross, round tower and Yeats grave.

The church has been open to the public for many years and when it under development for a major refurbishment in 1999, under its many layers of plaster there was a lot of architectural surprises were unveiled.

Drumcliffe in history terms also has many layers alike the walls including a monastic period , Saint Colmcilles connection, the battle of the book, the beautiful early Christian Architecture present day church and the Yeat's connection to name but a few as its watched over by one of the most iconic mountains Benbulben. Always majestic, the table top itself with alpine plants part of the Dartry Range which has a world famous waterfall at Glencar.

Drumcliffe has attracted Warriors, Saints, Poets and Royality for hundreds of years and continues to do so. On the 20th of May 2015 Prince Charles and Camilla Dutches of Cornwall visited here for a service of reconciliation and planted a tree in the graveyard. It is beside the tree President Mary McAleese who planted her tree and made her mark when she reopened the church 2001 after two years of renovations.

The tours normally take between 10-20 minutes and are delivered in a informative and factual manner. All tours can be altered to help cater for all group timeframes, prebooking is advised but not essential, the tour guides are local and have a knowledge of the area and its surroundings.
